First Attempt at Villanelle (or: I'm in too many poetry classes this semester)

Lonely Days
I miss you
Among other things, the way you smile
Remember when our love was new?
The days we see each other are all too few
But hearing your laugh makes it worthwhile
I miss you
It hurts worse each time we say adieu
And have to be apart for a while
Remember when our love was new?
I’m stuck in Minnesota writing about Chopin’s Bayou
And learning how to be docile
I miss you
The sparkle of your eyes, that beautiful green hue
Like glass, and just as fragile
Remember when our love was new?
Trite or not, our love is true
And so I’ll see you soon at the end of the aisle
I miss you
Remember when our love was new?
